Our Mission

The Knippel Education Center is Aldine ISD’s Alternative Placement School. Students attend classes on our campus for a defined period of time prior to transitioning back to a general education setting on their home campuses.

We exist to provide a structured, reflective environment while insuring that all students are still being afforded a fair and appropriate education by certified educators and access to educational supports and personnel in all disciplines for the span of their placement.

A disciplinary alternative education program (DAEP) established in conformance with the Texas Education Code (TEC), §37.008, and this section is defined as an educational and self-discipline alternative instructional program, adopted by local policy, for students in elementary through high school grades who are removed from their regular classes for mandatory or discretionary disciplinary reasons and placed in a DAEP.
